The votes are in, and it looks like we fell short. I called Congressman Labrador to congratulate him on his victory in this hard fought race.
Folks, I’m disappointed in the result but I’m also optimistic about our future. As I traveled up and down Idaho’s First District this year, I met so many Idahoans who are getting involved in our political process and are ready to make a change. Idaho is waking up to the fact that we need more elected officials who represent our values and our priorities, and aren’t just looking out for their own personal interests.
We started something here in Idaho. Although we didn’t win this race, I know that we will fight on, together, to give working families, students, and the most vulnerable Idahoans a voice in our government. The work we did during this campaign to organize volunteers and voters will not disappear today. We laid the foundation for something bigger.
Thank you for standing with me throughout this campaign. I’m honored to have earned your support and your vote. During the hardest days of the campaign, you kept us going by volunteering your time, talking to your neighbors, and making hundreds of donations big and small. This was a true blue grassroots effort, and I could not have done it without you.
